Finding Your Router IP on Windows
Follow these steps to find your router's IP address using Command Prompt:
Step 1: Open Command Prompt
Press the Windows key, type "cmd", and select "Command Prompt".
Step 2: Run the 'ipconfig' command
In the Command Prompt window, type ipconfig and press Enter.
Step 3: Locate the Default Gateway
Look for the line that says "Default Gateway". The series of numbers next to it is your router's IP address (e.g., 192.168.1.1).
Finding Your Router IP on macOS
Here’s how to find your router's IP address on a Mac:
Step 1: Open System Preferences
Click on the Apple menu in the top-left corner and select "System Preferences".
Step 2: Go to Network Settings
Click on the "Network" icon.
Step 3: Select Your Connection
Select your active network connection (Wi-Fi or Ethernet) and click "Advanced...".
Step 4: Find the Router IP
Go to the "TCP/IP" tab. The number listed next to "Router:" is your router's IP address.
Finding Your Router IP on iOS (iPhone/iPad)
Use these steps to find your router's IP address on an iOS device:
Step 1: Open Settings
Tap on the "Settings" app icon.
Step 2: Go to Wi-Fi
Tap on "Wi-Fi".
Step 3: Tap on Your Network
Tap the "i" icon (information) next to your connected Wi-Fi network.
Step 4: Locate the Router IP
Scroll down to find the "Router" section. The IP address listed there is your router's IP.
Finding Your Router IP on Android
The method might vary slightly depending on your Android version and device manufacturer, but here's a common approach:
Step 1: Open Settings
Open the "Settings" app on your Android device.
Step 2: Go to Wi-Fi
Tap on "Wi-Fi" or "Wireless & networks" then "Wi-Fi".
Step 3: Tap on Your Network
Tap and hold on your connected Wi-Fi network and select "Modify network" or "Manage network settings". You might need to tap on "Advanced options" to see more details.
Step 4: Find the Router IP
Look for the "Gateway" or "Router" address. This is your router's IP address.
Tip: Common Router IP Addresses
Some of the most common router IP addresses are 192.168.1.1, 192.168.0.1, and 10.0.0.1. If you're still having trouble finding it, try one of these in your browser's address bar.
